On September 30, 2017, Biking4Books will be hosting fifth annual cycling event to benefit Saint Louis city elementary schools. The funds raised from this event will be donated to Saint Louis Public Schools Foundation and used for purchasing books for students of Saint Louis city schools.
Education of the next generation of Americans is an important national priority. For America to compete and lead in this world, all American children need access to quality education. Unfortunately, in these economic hard times, education of our children sometimes does not get the attention and the resources that are needed. It is in recognition of this need that we organize an annual biking event to raise funds for textbooks for schools in Saint Louis city.
Biking4Books will involve a 10 mile, 25 mile and 50 mile biking course with participants of all ages who will come together to show their support. Our goal is to raise $30,000. Again, the money from registration of the participants and sponsors will be donated for purchase of books for the students of the schools.
Bike Rental rates will be $15 for a hybrid bike and $20 for a road bike. Renters will be able to rent a helmet at no additional charge.
Urban Shark Bicycle Co doesnot have juvenile bikes in the fleet, but older children may be able to ride a small adult bike. Bikes will need to be reserved in advance, and reservations are made on a first-come-first-served basis.
To make reservations renters may call the store at 314-881-0322 and ask for Brian or Josh.
The bikes can be picked at Urban Shark on 1009 Locust Street, St. Louis, MO 63101
Payment information will be taken at time the reservation is made. Your credit card will not be charged until 48 hours prior to the event. All confirmed reservations are non refundable.
Rentals will need to be returned to the store after the event.
